A large consumer goods business that sells machines and appliances to over 70 countries worldwide approached Proco Associates to work together on a number of highly technical engineering roles of varying seniority.
The organisation was experiencing a number of difficulties in accessing a local talent pool and as a result relied heavily on overseas candidates moving to the UK to fill talent gaps in their business. With the recent change in UK Visa regulations, it was becoming increasingly difficult to secure talent from abroad and a new approach was needed.
Due to the nature of the roles and the volume required, our specialised UK research team worked quickly to identify the best local talent available for the positions using effective talent mapping and candidate profiling strategies.
Drawing on our extensive UK talent pool, the research focus was on highly educated engineers with a background in a variety of engineering disciplines such as Electronics, Software, and Hardware.
From the initial market mapping, we were able to identify a long list of 300 potential candidates. This was narrowed down to a 30 strong shortlist that included candidates with PHDs and successfully filed patents, truly showcasing the depth and strength of our talent mapping.
Nearly 95% of shortlisted candidates were asked to come for a first interview, and 71% were asked back for a second interview.
All candidates are now progressing well within the organisation, and Proco Associates has since started to work on other roles across the wider organisation as a strategic recruitment partner.
